Ideas and Responses week5 Researching

Ai weiwei is a Chinese bron contemporary artist. He is the son of the great poet Ai Qing who is judged and punished in the Culture Revolution of China. That changing also influence Ai weiwei to become a political artist.

The reason why Ai weiwei is not popular in China is that he did lots of works against government. That is also the reason why people love him. The idea of his artworks are amazing and remarkable.

There are some artworks of him showing the ideasin his brilliant brain.

The main playground of Beijing Olympics in 2008 which names Nest is showing us how to mix natural elements with modern elements. Also the shape of this building and structure based on real nest. That is the reason why it is so different with others.

The idea of this terrine is also amazing because he mixed traditional Chinese terrine with well known western coke brand.That makes people feel like culture clash and mixing. It is the clash of visual and brain which is remarkable. 

These series photos is also a great idea. The terrine he dropped made in Han Dynasty which worth more than you can imagine. The reason why he made these photo is telling people that he does not give a fuck the rule decent people made which is artwork needs to be collected in the museum. In his opinion art can be any form in our life.       

    

Ideas and Responses week5 Experimentation

Amy is the cat my mate had almost 12 years. She passed away 3 month ago. This is the last self portrait I made for her which is very sad to tell this story.

1. Amy likes this red blanket that she always lies on it during the afternoons

4. She was not that outgoing. But she will play with you when you guys familer enough with her.

Ideas and Responses week4 Context

The idea of my works are document animals for the class task which is the first time doing it. The two keywords are "animal" and "drawing". That will be a little bit difficult to do it without hands. And that is the reason why I researched so many different artists and have look how they do it without hands.

The more I digging in the more ideas comes up. For example, that documentary drawing is pretty good which mixing creative writing with visual art. Because you create with your brain and practice with your hands which is a very good experience.

I think I need to find someway else to do it and researching more artists. That will help me out for this paper.    

Ideas and Responses week4 Evaluation of Experimentation

The experimentation I did last week is the first time I drawing like that. That is very exciting to observing animals especially cat because I am a cat person. But there are some problems when you doing observation drawing.

Animals are not thinking as yours and they will not follow your orders especially cats. That is why I need to come up some new ideas for my "animal drawing" fro example put a wet paper on the ground also put some cat food on the top. There is another problem will come up which is cat afraid of water. And she may not touch the wet paper. If she is not gonna touching wet paper the whole drawing gonna failed. Because you will not get any valuable result of cat.

It is much easier for doing that on dogs. Because the white dogs belongs to my landlord. That is why it is much easier to make him do something. I will not do kind of these thing if there is a dog from outside.

Bringing food to dogs is the best idea for dogs because it is the naturally of dogs. That is some new ideas and old problems I have.

Ideas and Responses week3 Experimentation

This is the dog my landlord has. Actually it's not hard play with him because all you need to do is bring some food and water.

He alway excited when someone brings food to him. The movement he always do is jump up and also close his hands which is very dramatic.

I have collected some hair of him as a part of the drawing. 

Also my landlord's dog Dudu the same thing as cat. He avoidly walk away when I put a wet paper on the ground. Looks like very clever.

Ideas and Responses week2 Experimentation

I was hang out with this little cutie for nearly an hour. And she is very outgoing and croppreted. But it's failed when I put a paper on the ground which is trying let her walking on the paper to completed the drawing. 

Cat is not like other animals. They play with you when they think they want to play with you. Also you cannot force them to do something they don't want to do. That is the biggest problem to drawing my cats. 

I will bring some cat food next time when I found her. Hopefully its gonna work if she is truly outgoing.

Tom Friedman is an American concept sculptor. His works aim at different style of sculptor which using different materials. His artworks always makes audiences thinking about why he did it with those materials and developing the process.                  

This sculpture is made by silver. He could suppose make the whole texture of body smoothy but he did not. The reason why he made this one like that is he want to show people how shameless when you do this in a public place. He want to explain his mind activity by this rough texture sculpture.  

This series sculptures showing us the person of the sculpture is looking at the sky in different time of in a same day.

This one is inspire me because he created a kind of crime sense sculpture. The blood on the ground looks like a man fallen from a very high building. different materials have been using in a same sculpture and perfectly showing us the combination.

This is the music I found for the background if we gonna shoot someone get drunk. Because we do not necessary need dialogue for this sense. All we need to do is that we let actors acting they are drunk and we put this music as background.

This is the instrument for production of horror movie which is very exciting to watch how it works. It can create lots of scary sound for example the sound of door opening. Also he create some new sound by shaking this instrument.

DALeast is a Chinese-born graffiti artist who lives in Cape Town. His background is the same as Banksy that we don't know what his real name is. He is making 3D graffiti on the wall to showing people his talent. Also he is targeting walls all around the world.

There are some animal graffiti works of him shows

 

His works shows us he can use graffiti skill to make different texture of animals. And that is why his works inspire me.I really like the third one he did which is a series movement of a deer.

This is the trailer of TV show Sons of Anarchy. It gives us a good idea although it is not actually a domestic violence video shows that an interview of woman get flashes on the face while she is talking about how much her boyfriend loves her. That shows strongly irony and make deep impression for the audiences.

Ideas and Responses week1 Researching

Vik Muniz is a Brazilian artist who uses different materials to draw his artwork. His works are inspire me because I am doing Drawing and Cat at the monument. So I have to give up traditional way to draw things which is using pencil. I researched him because he is the one using everything to draw but pencil. There are some interesting drawing he did by using different tools and materials and also very amazing.

He used jigsaw to painting this unbelievable picture which is very cool. The whole drawing shows like an very old traditional Italian painting. The colour he used from the time of Renaissance and great skill of controlling light and shadow.

There is another self portrait drawing he made with pixel. The point of this drawing is how to focus on details when it is hard to control the black and grey  with pixel. Actually he did it very successful. You can see all the details from two meters distance.

Those two drawing made by old newspapers and photos. He cut them and pasted together to make a realism drawing. The second drawing is actually my favourite one because it is more realism that you can even see the reflection on the car. And lots of details like sunshine on the house and person. That is a good way to learn how to draw in different way with different materials.

we started brainstorm this week which is a little bit late for our agenda. But we came up some good ideas. First we make sure our direction is aiming at women and kids because that is the most powerful point we make this video.

1. Splitting camera telling people two situation of a woman( using make up apply bruised on one camera of woman)

2. Man beating his wife and kid watching and get bruised on his/her face then. That shows we need to call this number to save the kid and also protect him away from domestic violence in case the heart of the kid broken.

3. Rapping about how bad domestic violence is.

4. Making like a interview that a woman talking about how his husband treats her. But she needs to keeping smiling while she is talking. Because that can makes good contrast. And it also makes audiences want to keep watching it. we can also add some more sense into this one makes it fit 2mins long.

Actually I prefer the second one and forth one. Those two can makes me to keeping watching the whole video and makes me want to help them. That is what I think as the position of a teen from 11-18 years old.

Moving Image Term2 Week1

That is the short film I researched which is a young woman had domestic violence. The point is not the storyline because the storyline just pretty normal. But there is one thing we can learn from is the contrast. Especially the second part of this video there is a warm and soft light in the room. And the couple act normal in the beginning of this sense. The husband starting beat the woman after an arguing.
That is a great contrast that betting happens in a soft warm room.

Also in the last sense we can tell woman starting open a music box before she apples make up to cover her bruised. Soft music plus complicated thinking of this woman and cold blue light also make a great contrast.

Moving Image Term2 Week1

We have been told to do two videos as two groups for helping kids away from family violence. The video we gonna make is about Domestic Violence. It is a big topic actually but we had rules about this video:
1. 2mins long
2.Targeting people about 11 to 18.

So the storyline has to be fit for 2mins long. Also the problem is how we can fit 2mins and 11- 18 year old kids.

I found two images that can give us some ideas

The first image is talking about a man beating a girl but the irony thing is there are a bunch of people around them while he is beating the girl. Everybody just keep silence is why domestic violence happens all the time.  

That is a powerful picture on the Internet now. The photographer took the main point which is the child. Because child doesn't know any racist thing when they are young. They just copy what their parents do and become a habit during their growing age. That is another idea came from which is using kid make our video be strong and powerful.
