I am interested in tattooing. And I think it is a special art for people that will be my career. There are 5 the most popular tattoo art style: Fine line black and grey, Asian, Bio mechanical, Tribal and Traditional old school.
Fine line black and grey tattoo started popular in Chicano communities of East LA 1970s. This kind of style tattoos aim at rose, portrait, Greek mythology characters. They are more aimed at details. The designs are highly realistic forms of painting and drawing that use the skin as a canvas.
Why do you want to tattoo yourself? For me the reason was because it was the second week I came in New Zealand. I just wanted to make something on my body to celebrate it. The image I chosen is “Stan”. I was then a big fan of Eminem and his music. That is the reason why I choose “Stan” for my first tattoo because most of his fans call themselves as Stan. Stan is a song by Eminem. That song is singing about a man who is crazy about Eminem and wants to be with him. The first part of Stan is that fan is writing a letter to Eminem and tells him how much he likes him. At last he was dead by an accident. The second part is Eminem write a letter back to him and tell him don’t to be the second of him.
When I wanted to get this first tattoo I asked my friends for suggestions. They told me about some tattoo shops close to my house then. And I choose one of them which the nearest with my house.
The traditional Asian style is also interested me. The reason why I am interested in Asian tattoo style might be I am an Asian. And some tattoos include some symbol which I know where is that come from. I can tell people why I like it. But tattoo is not very popular in China. Because some old people do not think it is an artwork. Otherwise they think it is a symbol that you are a gangster. Many gangsters in some movies always get tattoos on their body. That is the reason why they will think you are a bad guy if you get lots of tattoos on your body.

The traditional Japanese tattoo is the most interesting part for me. And traditional Japanese tattoo is also influenced by American traditional tattoo. Because American Navy was stay in Japan after WW2. They brought American culture and style to Japan. So Japanese traditional also receive many American culture into their own swap.
And culture is not only receiving but also remixing. Traditional American tattoo is also influenced by Traditional Japanese tattoo. American tattoo artist also add many Japanese element into their style.

The remixing of culture is the most interested thing for me. And that is the motivation for me to discovering tattoo.
